Trails The Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve is a very well managed park. Trail maps are available at the base of the Way Up Trail. The Elfin Forest's claim to mountain biking fame is the amount of singletrack in the park. Way Up Trail The name is self explainatary. This is the trail up to the rest of the park. The trail is a steep climb with occasional rocky sections. It is a lot of fun on the way down, but you must earn your fun first. Equine Incline Trail Despite the name, this trail is open to all users. This trail is a moderately technical single track with a hard climb at the end. This is the most fun trail in the park, so don't worry about the climb. Tyke's Hike Tyke's Hike is a looping set of singletracks. On some sections you are riding on Tyke's Hike and you will cross Tyke's Hike. Helps to make it interesting. You will cross a maintence road a couple of times that will take you to the central picnic area. Quail Trail This short singletrack takes you to the Escondido Overlook and beyond to the Valley View Ledge Trail Valley View Ledge Trail/Lakeview Ledge Trail These two trails run along the ridgeline that forms the south and east parts of the new lake. These trails are mostly singletrack, with a little fire road. Oak Valley Loop This is the trail that runs through the valley that will be covered by the new lake after the dam is built. |
