Rancho Los Penasquitos is one of the more popular rides in the North City area. The park is a beautiful setting with meadows, Oak groves, sycamores, and a year-round stream in the middle of the canyon. That said however, the park is not a great place for the serious cyclist. the park has the worst bike policies of any non-wilderness area in the county. Bikes are regulated to the fire road and are limited to a laughable 10 miles an hour.

That said, Los Penasquitos is a ride you should try just to experience this wonderful park. The park is very popular with all types of users, especially horses. Remember to approach riders cautiously and yield when necessary.
