Rancho Cuyamaca is San Diego's premier mountain
ride. A wide variety of great rides including parts of an IMBA
epic
ride and the ever popular Grand Loop. 45 Minutes East of San Diego,
no one should miss this great park. |
| Lake
Poway |
|
Lake Poway is a nice after work ride. The best feature
of the park is a short but fun singletrack that drops off to the
foot of the dam. Other trails are available in the immediate area
of the dam that can make the ride much more challenging. |
| Rancho
Los Penasquitos Preserve |
|
Los Penasquitos is an easy ride that is good for
beginners. The park is a wonderful preserve full of Sycamores, Oaks,
meadows and chaparral covered slopes. |
| Mission
Trails Regional Park |
|
Mission Trails Regional Park contains 5,800 acres
of fun for the cyclist. Rides here range from the easy Father Junipero
Serra Trail, to the gut-wrenching climb up Fortuna Mountain. |
| Daley
Ranch |
|
Daley Ranch is a true treasure of a park with probably
the best overall riding conditions in San Diego County. This new
park opened in 1997, and is still relatively unknown. It is not
to be missed. |
| Elfin
Forest |
|
The Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve probably has
some of the highest concentration of singletrack in the county.
The park is not an easy ride, but intermediate and advanced riders
will enjoy the terrain. |
| Sycamore
Canyon |
|
Sycamore Canyon is a fun intermediate ride situated
between Santee and Poway. Half of the riding in the park is on single
track, while the rest consists of dirt roads. In the Winter small
creek crossings add to the fun of this site. These crossings are
just wide enough to try to bunny hop. |
| Laguna
Mountains |
|
The Laguna Mountains are a wonderful place to get
away on an all day trip or overnight camp. They are located about
an hour east of San Diego on the Sunrise Highway. About 90% of the
trails you will ride are singletrack. |
| Noble
Canyon |
|
Noble Canyon is San Diego's most talked about ride.
Starting from the top of the Laguna Mountains, this ride drops 2,500
feet into Pine Valley. The ride is very technical in sections and
only experienced riders should attempt it. |
| Tecolote
Canyon |
|
Tecolote Canyon is a short drive from downtown and
the beach areas. The canyon runs 6 miles from the entrance at the
Tecolote Visitor Center to the north end of the canyon near Clairmont
Square. After an initial run on a utility road the trail turns into
singletrack for the remainder of the ride. |
| Lake
Hodges |
|
Lake Hodges is one of the premiere riding sites for
beginner to intermediate riders. There may not be very much in the
way of technical riding, but the lake offers some very refreshing
rides along the hills surrounding the lake. |
| Anderson
Truck Trail |
|
The Anderson Truck trail is an abandoned jeep trail
that climbs along the east shore of El Capitan Reservoir. The lower
portion of the trail has eroded and overgrown into a fun singletrack.
The trail can be done as a loop or one way downhill, but is most
fun as an out and back. |
| Carrizo
Gorge |

Carrizo Gorge is an abandoned railroad track that
winds its way from the mountains to the desert floor east of San
Diego. It is a great ride. it isn't technical but is a very unique
experience. It can be done as a out and back or as a shuttle. |
